Crazy rash and a failed workout
So just when I though my body shred was getting better (been a week), I started getting this crazy itch. Like I need to itch my skin, but from the inside out sort of, was driving me nuts. Just so happens that I had an allergic reaction to the Tagaderm bandages I had been using and all the skin under and around my bandages busted out a full blown syphilis looking rash, looks like a cross between some sort of VD and poison ivy. To really top it off other sores on my body and a strip of skin on my legs, that is under the rubber leg grippers on my shorts, started to break out as well.
People were looking at me in public, it was f’n gross! A guy at Starbucks could not contain him self and had to mumble how gross it was as he walked by, old dude at Starbucks you are like 70, do you really need to make fun of me?
Anyway I had a monster workout for the day:
1 x 90 minutes at 42-44 kph
10 minute break and change gear
20 minutes at 44-46 kph
Jesus! Of course they were having an event at our track, so I did not get on the track till that wrapped in the after noon. The guys at the front desk looked ready to go home, I told them to just let me roll out a few laps and yell when they needed me off. Pretty sure they did not anticipate a 90 minute first effort!
Long story short, 90 minutes was going to be a tall order on the day. My pussy/swollen leg was a drag and my legs were just not “on”. I struggled to hold 42kph average and slide down to the high 41’s after 40 minutes, but was able to hold it. After 60 minutes it was hard, my body was in pain, everywhere. Thank the lord when the guys from the front desk waved me in, 67 minutes even.
Man, I jumped on my road bike for the 9 mile ride home and could hardly pedal. my right leg literally would not go over the top of the pedal stroke, as if it was broken or something. So I sort stood up for a few miles, sitting for 2 or 3 seconds every minute and then realizing it would not work. I finnaly started riding on the sidewalk as i was going so slow on the road i was afraid i was going to get run over. Took an hour to get home, could finally pedal for a minute at a time sitting down when I got to the bottom of my street. Damn ride home may have been harder than the workout!
Just hopping to kick the allergic reaction now, completely grossing me out.
