Charts

Below are a few charts that are great references.  The first one is a gear chart, this is a standard gear chart and the one that most people use as a reference.  I also have a great excel spread sheet that i use for gearing/pacing for pursuits or time trials on the track, you enter your desired time/distance the gears you are going to run and it will show you the splits you need to ride to achive your desired time as well as the cadence you will be at, download this and play around:  Pursuit Times Advanced.

This chart can be used backwards to calculate your CdA, if you have a power meter on your track bike we can set the timer at 20 seconds pre lap and have you do a few flying 8 lap efforts “on the beep” and calculate your CdA, this process can also work for refining your equipment and position, to lower your CdA.
