Threshold time

So I just wrapped up a week of threshold work, pretty darn hard I must say. The goal of the workout this week (I think) was to cause some adaptions by doing LONG efforts at/below threshold. These were tough on the legs, tougher on the taint and some serious mental training!  Basically we are talking 40 minutes at 42-46 kph on the blue line, 10 minutes rest, another 40 minutes, 10 minutes off and another 40 minutes. We are talking about 120 minutes of TT work in one training session, this is hard.

After doing this workout 3 times in the same week I have to say that I am pretty beat.  As a matter of fact I sort of crumbled on the 3rd day of doing this workout, legs and head were beat down! I got on with it, but by the final 40 minute effort I was toasted and just trying to get it done, AT ANY SPEED. Ass was killing me, legs were hurting and sweat was flying everywhere. Sure hope I don’t have to do this workout again anytime soon, this might be harder than doing a full on hour record!
